I hope you all had a lovely Easter and that everyone is healthy and safe. I'm guessing it must have felt strange for many of the adults, but I hope the children really enjoyed the time they have at home.
For this week I have decided to go with fairy tales, starting with one of my favourite stories, that not every child seems to know - The Frog Prince.
It's amazing how stories that were told and then written so many years ago have really shaped our society and how they are still present today. Even if the format has changed slightly, the essence of the story is mostly still there. Being born in Germany, fairy tales definitely played a big role in my childhood and not always the Disney version that is so popular among children today.
So while at times I will choose a popular fairy tale, after all there is a reason why so many children love Cinderella, Rapunzel, Sleeping Beauty and Snow White, some days I will also choose something not so familiar for them to explore. And the original story of Frozen - The Snow Queen, will definitely have to be looked at!
Enjoy todays activity. I hope it will also bring back fun memories for you and you can maybe share with your children, which fairy tale you loved when you were little.
The Audrey Surprise Activity sheets are all things I find online and put together for you to enjoy. The exciting news is, I finally have our own Wonderland Interactive Storytelling products ready!!! Originally these activities were designed for the classroom for 3-5 year olds. However, I have redesigned some things and have managed to get the first story and activity ready now for parents and children to enjoy at home. These are currently being uploaded and I will have them online tonight.
I will write a blog tomorrow for those that are interested, focusing on what Wonderland Interactive Storytelling is and giving a bit of information about the benefits of it, so stay tuned.
If you have any questions, would like more information on anything or even want to pass on some comments, you can reach me anytime via the website, or on facebook. I have loved getting the feedback of how much fun children and parents have been having at home with these activity sheets. Please do share with other parents or teachers so we can try and help as many people as possible as we are all in this together. For now have fun with The frog Prince.
